STADIUM FISHT

  • Location: Imeretinskaya Lowland
  • Capacity: 45 000
  • Field dimensions: 105×68 m
The Olympic Stadium "Fisht" was built for the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. The stadium was named after the mountain peak of the same name in the western part of the Main Caucasian ridge. In translation from Adyghe language, the word "fisht" means "white head".
At the stadium "Fisht" the opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games took place, as a result of which the stadium became the visiting card of Olympic Park in Sochi.
Embodied design solutions ensure maximum functionality of the object as a sports facility that meets the world standards of sports and entertainment technologies, taking into account the possibility of using the building as a multifunctional structure.

The stadium has four stands: two covered side and two open end ones. The location of the stadium and the height of the end stand provide spectators with a beautiful view of the mountains of the Greater Caucasus and the Black Sea.
Within the Confederations Cup FIFA 2017 the Sochi stadium "Fisht" accepted 4 matches:
3 qualifiers on 19, 21 and 25 June 2017 and the semifinal of the tournament on June.
